PEARL DENTAL CENTER'S OFFICE IN SOUTH TAMPA, FLORIDA

We are a small, close-knit general dentistry practice dedicated to providing quality dental care for each and every one of our patients. From the moment you enter our door, we want you to be comfortable with and confident in your care. We each do our part to maintain a calming, positive environment, always striving to make your dental experience as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. We know that finding time for dental appointments can be difficult for some, so we open at 7am to suit our patients’ work schedules.

Dental Assistant

Jaima is a certified expanded functions dental assistant (EFDA) with a radiology certificate. She has more than 25 years of experience providing quality dental care. Her kind, friendly attitude makes our patients feel at ease at Pearl Dental Care. Jaima's knowledge, understanding, and patience are able to alleviate even the most anxious dental patients, fostering long-lasting relationships for years to come.

Laura

Front Office

Laura does all of our front office work - she greets you, answers the phone, keeps up with all electronic communications, schedules appointments, gathers patient data - everything. She is a wonderful, kind communicator. She is a newer resident of Florida - moving here from Vermont. She and her husband are new parents as well as enthusiastic fitness buffs, loving the outdoor activities available in Florida.

Dental Hygienist

Usha is a registered dental hygienist (RDH), graduating from St Petersburg College in 2016. She was born and raised in Venezuela, moving to the States over 10 years ago to follow her dreams of getting an education and learning the language. She became a dental hygienist because she is a strong believer that prevention is the key to a healthy body. She enjoys helping people improve their oral health as well as educating them in the best home care techniques. She also likes helping patients overcome their dental fear so they can have a positive experience in the chair. In her free time, she runs, bikes and travels with her boyfriend and two dogs.

Dental Hygienist

Rachel began working with Pearl Dental Center full time in October of 2021. She graduated from Hillsborough Community College in 2018 with her Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene. Rachel has a passion for dental health and strives to provide patients with gentle and thorough treatment. She regularly follows up with clinical advances and changes in dentistry to be able to provide her patients with the best preventive care. She was born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area. In her free time she loves to travel and get out in the Florida sun with her two dogs and her husband.

Shannon

Dental Assistant (CEFDA)

Shannon is a certified expanded functions dental assistant (CEFDA) with a radiology certification. She attended UNMC for her radiology course prior to receiving her radiology license here in Florida. Shannon’s priority is her patients’ comfort and sense of ease at dental appointments. She cares deeply about her profession and her patients. She is originally from Denver, Colorado and has lived in Florida for 3 years with her family and two boys. She loves spending time with her kids and her husband, traveling or enjoying the outdoors.

Joey

Dental Hygienist

Originally from Ohio, Joey moved to Sarasota in 1984, along with her parents and siblings. She completed her middle and high school years and went to college originally on a music scholarship in pursuit of a degree in elementary music education.

Towards the end of her first year in college, the music specialty programs became scarcer, so that’s when Joey found her interest and current passion of dentistry.

She has been in the dental industry since the mid-1990’s, with a significant amount of experience on the surgical side. Having been in the dental field now for 25+ years, she is able to combine her years of knowledge and experience to her patients, and still occasionally sings along the way!

Joey has two sons, of whom she is very proud of. Her favorite thing in life is being a mom!

Joey and her family reside in the Carrollwood area where they live on a large lake.There she enjoys wildlife - birding, fishing, and watching the beautiful sunsets.
